Mom's 60th Birthday Trip to Chicago

Robynn and I schemed up a plan for mom's birthday.  We wanted to take her on a fun trip for her 60th and surprise her in the process.  We gave her this card on Mother's Day.

So here we are!  Aside from a plane delay and rushing through the airports and L-Train we had an exciting first day in Chicago and loved the Second City show.  A special thanks to my friend Jessica Wiehe's co-worker for getting us to the show on time.

Day two: Hop-on hop-off bus tour!

Deep dish pizza at Navy Pier!

Day three: It's game day!!!!!!
A little bit of touring on our way to the stadium!

Rain rain, go away!  Until after the game!

Jessica's co-worker hooked us up with Ah-Maz-Ing tickets for the Cubs vs. Cardinals game!
We were eight rows up above the Cubs dugout.  The rain stopped during the game and we had a beautiful afternoon.  The Cardinals swept the Cubs which was okay by us, however the Cubs did alright for themselves.  The Cubs went on to win the World Series which had not been done in 108 years.  It was a great year for us to have been to a game at Wrigley Field!

We even got on the Jumbotron with our birthday sign for Momma!

World Series MVP Ben Zobrist up to bat!

Our last evening in Chicago we ate at Harry Caray's Steakhouse.  It was a great final good-bye to the city!  Not to mention we got to see an actual Women in Baseball's uniform which was great.

It was a memorable trip!  We had laughs, great food, and amazing sites.
Happy 60th, Mom!
