July - part 2

July brought more horse shows for Chloe.  We had a day in WaKeeney at a great show and then the next day had the Ellis County Fair 4-H show in Hays.

The 4-H Show was a first time for Chloe where she got dressed for the part.  She shined Goble up, polished his hooves, and dressed herself for show.  It was a fun experience for her to learn how to show for this event.

She did amazingly well at the fair this year and brought home some great winnings.

Isaac also did great at the fair this year.  He built a rocket for the first time and did a woods project for the first time.  We enjoyed watching him get excited for his projects this year.

Amelia and Caroline were disappointed that they could not enter items in the fair for real competition.  So we held our own fair for them at home.  They submitted several projects and between extra ribbons and a few made by Chloe they were happy with their results as well.  I was particularly impressed how they answered questions 'judge' dad asked them.  They will do great once their real project talks begin!

Snuggles with Amelia....selfies for sure.

I mentioned in an earlier post about Amelia and Caroline's tutoring this summer.  We are so blessed that they had eight weeks of successful tutoring.  We added extra sessions and time because they enjoyed it so much.  Each day I would ask what they worked on and each time they would answer that they didn't work on any school work.  This was because Mrs. Pratt made it so fun for them.  One day when I arrived at school to pick them up I was welcomed with their names on each and every door in the building that had glass low enough for them to write on.  This is how they practiced their names that day.  Mrs. Pratt was so creative.

Their last week of sessions they got to take several of their progress papers and decorate their preschool teacher's door.  They even left a box of Kleenex for her because they knew she would cry happy tears.  It was a successful summer for sure.
