Mom's 60th Birthday Trip to Chicago

Robynn and I schemed up a plan for mom's birthday.  We wanted to take her on a fun trip for her 60th and surprise her in the process.  We gave her this card on Mother's Day.

So here we are!  Aside from a plane delay and rushing through the airports and L-Train we had an exciting first day in Chicago and loved the Second City show.  A special thanks to my friend Jessica Wiehe's co-worker for getting us to the show on time.

Day two: Hop-on hop-off bus tour!

Deep dish pizza at Navy Pier!

Day three: It's game day!!!!!!
A little bit of touring on our way to the stadium!

Rain rain, go away!  Until after the game!

Jessica's co-worker hooked us up with Ah-Maz-Ing tickets for the Cubs vs. Cardinals game!
We were eight rows up above the Cubs dugout.  The rain stopped during the game and we had a beautiful afternoon.  The Cardinals swept the Cubs which was okay by us, however the Cubs did alright for themselves.  The Cubs went on to win the World Series which had not been done in 108 years.  It was a great year for us to have been to a game at Wrigley Field!

We even got on the Jumbotron with our birthday sign for Momma!

World Series MVP Ben Zobrist up to bat!

Our last evening in Chicago we ate at Harry Caray's Steakhouse.  It was a great final good-bye to the city!  Not to mention we got to see an actual Women in Baseball's uniform which was great.

It was a memorable trip!  We had laughs, great food, and amazing sites.
Happy 60th, Mom!

June 2016 Fun and Games

June brought pool parties at Randy and Sari's, or Zsa Zsa and Papa's as we say for ease in referencing Tessa's grandparents.  We are so happy they invite us over so often and we really enjoy swimming in their pool.

June also brought Chloe's first ever week at 4-H camp!
Royce remembers going to Rock Springs as a kid and Chloe was finally old enough to attend this summer.  She earned a $50 scholarship towards her fee and was more excited for camp than about anything else I can remember.  There was no fear or separation anxiety for this gal, she was ready!

Bits 'N Spurs campers
Kate, Chloe, Callie, Lexie, and Colton

The second day of her camp I received a text from my cousin Stephanie.  She said that Brooklyn had text her the night before because Brooklyn was a counselor at the camp!   How fun is that?!?  Brooklyn was a counselor and Kennedy was a fellow camper.  The Hays 4-H director took hundreds, yes HUNDREDS of pictures each day.  It was overwhelming!  I looked and looked and looked through pictures each day and Chloe was only in ONE, hahahaha!  I saved these two pictures as memories for her.  Although I'm not sure she will forget anytime soon.

When Chloe got home she had a big smile for the whole day.  She went on and on, talking about her cabin and the girls in Sycamore B.  It was fun hearing her tell stories and talk about their decisions, challenges, and attempts at sugar rushes.  We are so very proud of the person she is becoming.  She is so independent, confidant and happy.  It's awesome to see her so excited about her first camp experience.  Until next year!

Pfannensitel Reunion 2016

Memorial Weekend 2016 was a fun one!  We started the weekend by going to Englewood, KS and spending the day at Carol and Eugene's house.  Eugene had recently had a horrible car accident, rolling his truck, and it was nice to go see them and keep an eye on him for the day (haha).  We are so thankful he recovered and is doing so well.  I don't have any pictures from that day!  Why?!?  Andy was there to play with Amelia and Caroline.  Gina and family were there.  We spent the day playing games in the yard and even broke out some water balloons.

Sunday of Memorial weekend we had our Pfannenstiel Reunion.  It was a beautiful day for the reunion and a good time was had by all.  The biggest step for Robynn an I was that we both got to participate in the softball game!  Our little ones were big enough (and Gram watched Mason) that we didn't have to hover over them all afternoon.  It was sooo great!

This is the stage where these three girls referred to themselves as "The triplets".  They confused a lot of people as they are definitely three peas in a very chaotic pod!

These are all of the kids 10 and under!  Yowzers!

More May!

We spent the night at the lake after the kids got out of school.  It was a cool may evening and morning and the kids enjoyed it being a quiet week-day at the lake so they could ride their bikes wherever they wanted without traffic.  And they both took off without training wheels!  It was a big moment for our family as we were now completely training wheel free!

Another fun outing in May was a trip with Tessa and Rachel to the Sedgwick County Zoo.
We had to wait through about a half hour of rain and then the place was pretty empty for a while!
We enjoyed going to a zoo we hadn't been to and had a lot of fun!
