Royce initiated a fundraiser for our 4-H Club in September. He had taken Chloe to a horse daycamp in Colby last May and thought it was something that Hays needed to host. Like our situation, there are many families in Hays who have horse-loving children but no horses to ride. This camp provided the opportunity for these kids to learn horses from nose-to-tail, ride them, groom them, have stick-horse races to learn the riding patterns, and do a craft all before eating lunch and watching the 4-H'ers do a riding demonstration. It was a perfect first camp -- run successfully and learned a few things that might improve the camp in the future. Everyone in the club was really thankful for Royce's time and energy put in to hosting this event.
