Lake Wilson, June 7,8,9

Royce has wanted to camp at Lake Wilson for several years now.  We usually go to Cedar Bluff with family and friends but we never venture to Wilson.  Royce has memories from a childhood camping trip to this lake and I'm glad it worked out for us to go.  We invited both sets of our parents.  We camp with mom & Ron at Cedar Bluff and they were happy to have a change of scenery.  Royce had talked to his dad about borrowing Shelly's camper and that worked out quite well for everyone.

On Friday, Royce, Wayne and Chloe & Isaac headed to the lake with Shelly's camper.  Mom & Ron left from WaKeeney with their camper and that group all camped Friday evening.

Roasting marshmallows Friday night.

On Saturday, Sandy came to Hays and drove with the twins and I and we arrived early afternoon.  Unfortunately a storm was in the area so we all split up and stayed in the 2 campers for several hours.  But the bulk of the storm missed us and we got some moisture out of the deal so it wasn't a bad thing.  The evening was beautiful and even chilly.

Our family on the lake shore.

Marshmallows Take 2

I played with the different settings on my camera while we were there.
This picture was taken about 10:40pm with the maximum ISO setting
letting in all the light it could.  How blue the sky looks when the picture was taken at the same time as the one above and below this.  My shutter speed wasn't as fast as it should have been so it was blurry, but the color is so pretty for so late at night when it looks pitch black.

Isaac fell asleep on my lap just like this, although he was only pretending in this pic.
It's nice to have snuggly kids every once and a while!

Sunday was a perfect lake day.  We sat on the swimming shore for a long
time while the kids swam and played in the sand.

Caroline fell asleep on me here, too!

And when we got home, Wayne & Sandy bought Shelly's camper.
Looks like fun times ahead!  Here are some pictures from when the camper was in our driveway.
What a great place to throw kids for a while when they want/need some space!
