Memorial Weekend 2012 - Wind, wind, and more wind!

This Memorial Weekend we decided to spend two days at the lake with some WaKeeney campers, including Mom and Ron.  Upon driving into the campground on Saturday we promptly drove right back out and onto WaKeeney because of an approaching storm.  Correction: a QUICKLY approaching storm.  So we hit the highway and made it safely to WaKeeney.  We sat there for about an hour and headed back out to the lake.  It was a nice evening, wind aside.

We felt the camper blowing in the wind all night long, and woke up Sunday to more wind.  Nobody was going to worry about any water activities so we did the best to keep the kids entertained.

Royce took the kids fishing in a little pond at the lake.  They had really good luck!  I came to catch some pictures of them and I couldn't have timed it better!

See for yourself!

Waiting....

 What's on Isaac's line?

A fish!

Great catch!

Awesome job, Isaac!

Chloe just wanted ONE more fish before she could be done.  I think they both caught three in the whole time fishing but she just really needed her last one and was very patient.

I see a fish!

That's my girl--let Royce hold it while you pose nicely!
Great catch, Chloe!

After fishing Shirley Hager broke out the squirt guns.  Luckily she was a good sport and played along, too!  The kids had so much fun and the grown-ups did as well.

 "I SURRENDER!"

Amelia and Caroline also enjoyed the lake as they could be outside as much as they wanted.
I think most of our battles anymore are because they want to be outside all the time.

Isaac is ready for water wars!

While at the lake Isaac made a new "best friend" as he calls Darris.
Darris is the son of a WaKeeney couple who were also camping at the lake and these two boys hit it off right away.  Darris had a car at the lake and I'm pretty sure it logged more miles than any watercraft did this weekend.
The boys actually look very similar as well!

And Chloe's one request while at the lake was that she ride her bike on the BMX bike trail.
She was determined to do it and she did GREAT!  Royce and I were amazed at how fast she went.  Those hills were B I G for someone her size!

And last but not least, Caroline showing off her sunglasses from the weekend.

"Heeeyyyy!"
I LOVE how little their noses look with their shades on!
Ha Ha Ha!

Things we do.

Me, oh my.  Look at the things we do!

We find cabinets that don't have a child-lock yet and eat fruit loops.

We find low boxes of kleenex and remove every last one.

We also open the drawer below Caroline's crib and take out all of the clothes and blankets mommy has stored in there.

This is actually a drawer that mommy lets us play in.  It's just full of plastic bowls and lids that we are allowed to make a mess of.
However, I don't think mommy's intentions were for us to fit into the drawer.
At least not both of us at one time.
Caroline was in first, and Amelia was making her best effort to join her.

Amelia is in!  But she actually fell out after this.

If at first you don't succeed, try and try again!
Oops!  Sideways isn't quite working....

Maybe if I back myself in....

These are the things we do!

Road trip!

The first weekend in May we all loaded up and went to visit friends in Scott City and family in Garden City.  Scott City was first on the route and we spent an evening with Michael, Stacy, and Colborn Trout.  We had a great meal and then enjoyed the perfect evening outside.  The weather could not have gotten any nicer.  Colborn has a swing set that kept the kids busy all night, and thanks to Michael's creativity, we found space for both of the girls to swing as well!
 They had so much fun!

Next was Garden City for Kennedy's First Communion.  We arrived late Friday night but were able to spend all day Saturday goofing off with the family.  The kids play together so well and everyone had a great day.

Sunday was Kennedy's First Communion.
Here she is with her Godparents.
Chloe loved Kennedy's white dress and veil.

After church activities were over it was time for us to leave.  Aside from the fact that our kids had all played for two days, staying up late, etc., Chloe had a meltdown when it was time to go.  After some digging she finally admitted that she was sad to leave Mya, their husky dog.  Chloe and Mya became good buddies while we were there and Chloe said she was going to miss her.  I know complete exhaustion made the situation that much harder on Chloe but it was very sweet.  She agreed that taking some pictures of Mya would help her not miss her so much.  Chloe has them all up in her room already and is so proud of them.

Look at this face!

Luckily Mya's kisses made it all better!

Such a beautiful dog.

Thanks for having us Percivals!

Pictures from Spring

Grandpa Purinton went on a trip back to Vietnam in March and April.  He helped build a kindergarten school house and was hosted by the locals while there.  This is a picture of Grandpa and the girls when he got back from Vietnam with souvenirs!

I loaded all four of the kids up May 1st and we went to Kat's track meet in Jetmore.  Kat walks on water with my kids and she treats them so well.  They look up to her very much and she gives them a lot of attention when we are together.

Serious girl talk!

Wee Wigglers!

Isaac has been participating in a class at the Hays Rec Center during the month of May.  It's called Wee Wigglers and he gets to play all the games that we'd play on a fun day in gym class when I was a kid.  He has so much fun and it's a blast to watch all the kids.

Here are a few pictures of him in class!
