September was a C-R-A-Z-Y month for us.
We started with Labor Day and the State Horse Show, quickly moved into Chloe's birthday and Britny's wedding, then scurried right into friends in town, me leaving town, and hosting a horse-camp for our 4-H club too. It was truly the longest month of 2016 for us...so much packed into 30 days!
These peeps right here made a happy break for us mid-month! They were on a road trip to Vail for a few days and got to make a pit-stop in Hays with us! How can this crew NOT put a smile on your face? Every single one of our KC friends has a special place in our hearts!
Gram and Papa used our tickets for the first home game of the year September 17, 2016 and took Chloe and Isaac. I think it was a special day for them! The kids got little trading cards that had Willie the Wildcat on them. Later that week I found Isaac's curdled up in the washing machine. He was devastated! I assumed it was no big deal but he was in tears because he had gotten it on his trip with Papa and Gram. Luckily they gave out those cards at all the home games and we were able to replace his with a new one. No permanent harm, but his big heart showed through again.
And while Chloe was at volleyball practice one day the girls and I played at the park.
Well, they played and I found a full-body-length swing that I kicked my feet up on and relaxed!
All of your standard 'hot lava' rules were strictly enforced during this session.
Chloe's team was the Net Threats and they did very well this year. Chloe definitely grew with her serving. She would attempt overhand and if she missed she would then go back to underhand. There were several games she maxed out her five rallied points all with overhand serves!
Once Britny's wedding was over the girls got haircuts! Their hair needed to be much shorter so it can thicken up a bit and grow more evenly. While they weren't thrilled with the choice, it sure looked cute on them. They will have hair like Rapunzel before they know it....
Stella's daycare was closed at the end of September so she and I joined Amelia and Caroline for lunch at school. It was a fun afternoon!
Our 3rd annual beginners horse daycamp was a success again! I'm so glad this camp has been successful for a few years now. It was Royce's creation and it's been rewarding to see it be enjoyed by so many. We hope to keep it going!
